Cool, gloriously cool!! The Highlands are lush and green with extensive tea plantations, vegetable farms and strawberry farms stretching as far as the eye can see. The jungle areas are vast and dense and have interesting walking trails to view birds, butterflies and waterfalls
A lot of local and foreign tourists visit the area and weekends are extremely busy. I went on an early-morning tour to watch the sunrise over the tea plantations. It was foggy with a slight drizzle so we did not see the sunrise but it was beautiful so early in the morning.
We then went to the highest point – 2032m – and walked through the Mossy Forest. I loved this walk. On a misty morning the gnarled, moss-covered trees become imbued with mystique – I expected to encounter a wizard, a gnome or at the very least, a Hobbit going about their business.
Cameron Heights is where the famous Jim Thompson went missing in 1967 …
That looks magical!
I see there is a bit of moss on the mug, pretty soon you will look like Gandalf ?
Wow looks stunning El…those rolling hills covered in tea. Glad you got to enjoy a good old English tea in the jungle. What a treat! X Claire
Should have been Tarzan chasing Jane; Gollum was in New Zealand and probably next year’s ride for the intrepid El ;-):-)
