Diving at Koh Phi Phi Don

Keith completed his PADI Open Water course here and when I was planning the trip I decided it would be good to dive here too. Just to keep it in the family, I even went to the same dive shop, Island Divers.  They were well organised, professional and friendly – I enjoyed my 2 dives with them.  You leave early in the morning on the boat for the first dive site – Paylaya.  After the first dive there is fruit, water, tea, coffee and lunch to keep the divers inner person satisfied then the boat moves to the second dive site – Palong.

As this was the first opportunity to dive after qualifying and that was over a month ago, I was anxious and a little nervous but the instructor, Val, put me at ease, gave me good advice and kept an eye on me during the dives.  I was pleased with how well I managed and thoroughly enjoyed the dives.  There was so much to see – lots of beautiful coral and so many varieties of fish.  I have found pictures online of all the species that Val pointed out to us and identified.  With thanks and acknowledgement to the owners of the photographs.
