One of the best decisions I have made on this journey was to get my diving licence in the first few weeks so that I could dive wherever and whenever possible. I dived in both Nha Trang and Hoi An and have some lovely pictures to share.
Nha Trang
In Nha Trang the water was crystal clear with visibility about 15 metres. I did two dives and was privileged to have an amazing diving instructor, Jack Nguyen and a delightful diving buddy, Nellie Kneuper.
Hoi An
Diving in Hoi An was fun – also two dives but the visibility was not nearly as good as Nha Trang. I dived with 3 other guys (funny – I didn’t get a pic of me with my arm around them!) In Nha Trang I tried to use my expensive Nikon underwater camera which promptly filled with water at 5 metres and died. Those pics were taken by Jack. In Hoi An I bought a cheap second-hand Fuji underwater camera that stayed dry and works pretty well. So this was my first attempt at underwater photography.
Wow El it looks absolutely incredible!!!
