We went to Marseille where Tarryn (our daughter) treated us to Bouillabaisse at a lovely restaurant, Chez Fonfon, in the picturesque harbour of Vallon des Auffes. This is one of the original restaurants that was included in the Bouillabaisse charter in 1980. Read more here
Bouillabaisse is one of my very favourite dishes that I first ate in Marseille in the ’70s. I have tasted it all over the world but I do believe it is the best in the South of France and in Marseille in particular. So it was a very special for me as I have not been back in Marseille again until this visit. I do know that nostalgia has a very poor memory but this was just perfect and exactly as I remembered.
